Steve & Apryl’s Awesome Vintage Wedding!

Did someone say wedding? I thought so. This past weekend, we had the pleasure of shooting two weddings, including Steve and Apryls, featured here today. I’ve known Steve for the better part of a decade. We went to college together, go to church together, have the same group of friends from all those years back – so this wedding was especially fun for us. The wedding was held at Apryl’s home church in Keystone Heights, FL about an hour and a half out of Jacksonville (or 3 hours by boat, considering all the rain we had that week). Of special note, the couple chose a great vintage theme for their special day – with all the right accents – from hundreds of candles to rustic old window frames!

Meika and Jim’s Lovely Friendship Fountain Wedding!

Check out our latest wedding – the first of the new year! And wow, did we have some amazing weather for Meika and Jim’s outdoor wedding. The wedding was simple, intimate and yet elegant. Jim and Meika first met along the banks of the St Johns River at Friendship Fountain, so they thought why not get married where they first met.

Ghislaine & Anthony’s Festive & Fun St Augustine Wedding!

This was our last wedding before the New Year. We’ve had a wonderful 2012 and are looking with anticipation to the many things in store for us in 2013. And we hope you have an awesome 2013 as well! So, for our last wedding of the year, we ventured down to St Augustine to photograph Anthony & Ghislaine’s gorgeous wedding and dinner reception (at Cathedral Basilica of St Augustine and Ninety-Five Cordova respectively). This intimate gathering was perfectly set in the picturesque holiday-lit historic St Augustine, making for some great photo opportunities.

Christina & Zach’s Spirited Suwannee Wedding!

Just before Christmas, we had the chance to check out a new venue – something we don’t get to do too often after shooting over 400 weddings! The beautiful couple was Christina and Zach, and their wedding was held at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park out near the intersection of I-10 and I-75. The location is really quite pretty – with the river winding along its Northern boundary and a wonderful Christmas Lights display during the holidays. Zach and Christina’s wedding was held along the banks of the Suwannee, with all sorts of creative elements that made the wonderful evening their own.

Jenny & Travis’ Classy & Creative Destin Wedding!

This past weekend was another one of those “away” weddings out in Destin, FL – our fourth this year! Must be a popular place to get married. Jenny and Travis had lots of really wonderful and creative ideas that really made the wedding their own. From renting a home that housed 33 people (that’s about 2/3rds of the guests) so they could have everyone close, to all these great framed chalk boards that they had around the oceanfront wedding site and back at the house – where they also held the reception. Future brides – there are a lot of great ideas you may want to put your own personal touch on for your wedding day.

Courtney & Frank’s Classic Beach Club Wedding!

We had a great time shooting Courtney and Frank’s wedding this weekend – all the more so as our story with this family began many moons ago! Fresh out of college, I was hired by TNT Logistics (Now CEVA Logistics) to be their marketing and graphics guy for their North America operations. That’s where I first met Courtney’s dad, Jeff. Since leaving CEVA to run Deremer Studios full time back in 2007, we’ve stayed in touch and this summer, they asked us to photograph Courtney’s upcoming wedding. The wedding itself was gorgeous – lots of wonderful details created by the wedding coordinator and the folks at Sawgrass Beach Club. For me, the event was also a reunion of sorts – as I had the opportunity to connect with many folks from those old TNT days, including the event coordinator at the Sawgrass Beach Club – small world! Shenelle & Josh’s Wonderful & Whimsical Jacksonville Wedding!

Bryn and I had the pleasure of both shooting the wonderful wedding of Shenelle and Josh a few weeks ago. Not only did they have some great ideas (see above as evidence), but they also chose some great venues for their special day. The couple was married at Riverside Park Methodist Church – a really beautiful classic revival church with gorgeous exposed rafters – and then had their reception at the Haskel Building (Riverfront Cafe & Catering), overlooking the waters of the St Johns River. Kristen & Mike’s Beautiful Surf and Turf Wedding!

We love autumn weddings! We especially love them when they include Amelia Island, classic churches, boats, and a fun couple – as was the case with Kristen and Mike’s wedding. The ceremony was held at the historic St Peter’s Episcopal Church in downtown Fernandina, followed by a scenic boat ride to the reception site, Oyster Bay Yacht Club. Congrats Kristen and Mike – here’s to many, many years of joy!

Lee & Heather’s Quaint & Cozy St Augustine Wedding!

Over the weekend, along with having our commercial shoot at the Ritz-Carlton, we also had the pleasure of shooting the beautiful wedding of Heather and Lee, down at the Bayfront Marin House B&B in St Augustine, FL. Though the weather has been a bit dodgy the past week or so, this warm evening was perfect for an intimate outdoor wedding overlooking the waters of St Augustine. Congrats Lee & Heather! Shicela & Robert’s Awesome OP Wedding!

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of shooting Shicela and Robert’s fun and energetic wedding celebration at the Club Continental. From prep time to the end of the night, this fun-filled couple made the hours fly by. I had the pleasure of getting to know the couple during their engagement shoot earlier this year (remember our American Gothic-esque Rustic Engagement Shoot?) and that was a ball too. Candace & Jamie’s Intimate Gulf Wedding!

We really have been blessed to have so many wonderful, kind and fun couples over the years. Jamie and Candace were another one of these great couples to spend a day with.

Last week we had the opportunity to drive out to the Destin area for a second time this month. We had a great time spending the day with Candace, Jamie, and all their guests along the white sands and indigo waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Did you know that the sands in this area squeak when you walk on them – it’s the weirdest thing… Though the weather was a bit overcast, the conditions were really wonderful for an August afternoon. While this was a smaller destination wedding, the couple welcomed me as though I was family and we had a great time playing with the camera while enjoying the wonderful view (and the occasional low-level flyby). Whitney & Kerry’s Splendid Santa Rosa Wedding!

It seems August is the month for beachfront weddings. Though Santa Rosa Beach may be in the cross-hairs of potential Hurrican Isaac, two weeks ago the skies were blue and the weather perfect for Whitney and Kerry’s awesome beach wedding. Kelly & Taylor’s Amazing Amelia Island Wedding!

A little over a week ago, we had the pleasure of capturing Kelly and Taylor’s very special day up in Amelia Island. This was the first time we shot a wedding with Amelia Island Beach Weddings, and I have to say they did a wonderful job! They even managed to keep all the foreboding rain away for the wedding – still not sure how they managed that…

But seriously, I had a wonderful time shooting this wedding and loved all the great ideas the couple came up with to make the day uniquely theirs – like the very cool, from-scratch thank you signs they made (above). The night concluded with a great dinner and lots of celebration at the rustic downtown Fernandina staple, the Crab Trap. Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!
