Andrew and Kaitlyn’s Picturesque Destin Wedding!

Though we have had 10.4 inches of rain at our office in the last 72 hours, rain thankfully wasn’t an issue at this beautiful Destin, FL wedding.  The sun, however, was a bit of a mixed blessing.  During the ceremony, the sun was reflecting off the water and back-lighting the couple to a crazy degree.  Thankfully, our handy flash and some creative photography saved the day.

But when sunset came around, the sun definitely became an asset – giving us some beautiful sunset photos!  The venue was beautiful, as was Andrew and Kaitlyn – congrats to you both!  Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

Photo of the Day: Out of the Sunset!

Above is a composite photo I took recently while out in Destin for a wedding.  The aircraft are both old rotary-powered T-6 Texans  – there were several out that evening practicing maneuvers and formation flying from the nearby air force base.   Together with the amazing sunset silhouetting the aircraft, it made for some great photography conditions.  Unfortunately, the planes never quite got in the same frame as the sunset, so I took two photos from roughly the same time and combined them into this one image.  Enjoy – and of course, feel free to download as a desktop wallpaper!

Julisa & Bill’s Awesome St Augustine Wedding!

Rain didn’t stop Julisa and Bill from having an awesome wedding.  As seems to be the case these days, Florida has been spending a lot of time with it’s buddy, Mr. Rain, over the past month or so.  Julisa and Bill’s wedding was at the beautiful Lighter Museum, located in the heart of historic St Augustine.  The central courtyard and whimsical bridge made for a wonderful ceremony despite the weather [just between you and me, I think the umbrellas added to the whimsy of the day].  Anyway, congrats to our happy couple!  Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

Brian & Beth’s Beautiful Beachfront Wedding!

Almost there – two more weddings and we’ll be back up to date!  Aren’t you excited?  Probably not, but I am.

Regardless, here is our latest wedding – Brian and Beth’s gorgeous Amelia Island nuptials.  Despite the hot temperatures, the ocean breeze made for an absolutely splendid day for a wedding.  Check out the couple’s very cool cake – and of course, check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

The Wonderful World of White Oak

We recently had the opportunity to shoot another event with our friends at the enchanted White Oak Conservation Center.  Hidden away on the dirt roads of North Florida, located along the meandering St Marys River, this great location has a collection of mostly African endangered and threatened species.  From rhinos and cheetahs to giraffe and zebra – this open plan conservation center makes you feel half a world away.

This time, our group had the pleasure of seeing many of the species White Oak houses, fed the giraffe, and even interacted with a few of the young cheetahs.  Certainly a memorable experience!  The outing concluded with a great tour of the Big Game Room – filled with amazing artifacts from history, both ancient and modern – and was capped by a gourmet dinner in the Great Hall.  Young and not so young alike had some fun at the vintage bowling alley, antique pool tables and all the other wonderful amenities found at White Oak.  Below are some of our favorite photos – enjoy!

A Million Tiny Wings – Fine Art HD Wallpaper

A few months back now, we had the opportunity to visit Gainesville, FL – specifically the Museum of Natural History and Paines Prairie.  We saw countless species of butterflies – to be honest, most of the species were dead specimens mounted to the wall – but there were also thousands of butterflies in their gardens.  As you can see from all these photos – they had quite the variety of winged insects out and about!

We then ventured to Paines Prairie and explored the area – spotting a swallow tailed kite and the bald eagle you see below.  Enjoy the photos!

Kelly & Christian’s Stupendous St Augustine Wedding!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have officially arrived in June!  Well, err, umm – I mean we are finally posting weddings that we shot in June…  This post features a fun and adventurous wedding we captured for Kelly and Christian.   We began the day at the Casa Monica in St Augustine’s historic downtown.  From there, we ventured to the courthouse with the family for a surprisingly chic wedding.  We wrapped up our time exploring St Augustine, grabbing photos and dodging the rain.  Congratulations Kelly & Christian!  Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

Photo of the Day: It’s a Snail’s Life…

Found this little guy chilling on our grape plant one cool (for FL) morning.  I loved all the texture on its shell and in the leaf.  Enjoy!

You’re in luck – looks like it’s two for one wedding post day!  This evening’s post features sneak peeks from Nick and Christina’s Embassy Suites wedding.  This couple was truly a hoot!  (yeah, i know, I’m old fashioned.)  Between the karate poses with the groomsmen, to the fake ‘staches with the whole bridal party, we had a grand old time! Dan & Melanie’s Gorgeous Riverfront Wedding!

We’ve got another wedding for your viewing enjoyment!  This is Dan and Melanie’s wedding from a few weeks back.  They were married at a friends home, along the beautiful St Johns River in Greencove Springs.  Despite a quick shower that rolled down the river, we had a wonderful time shooting this intimate gathering of family and friends.  We even had the blessing of a rainbow!  Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

Sober Hope – A Bittersweet Look Toward the Certain Future

Yesterday afternoon, our church family said farewell to a dear and loved member of the congregation.  The loss of a loved one is always difficult, as is the complex emotions that accompany such an agonizing event.

{warning: I’m about to get all Christiany – don’t say I didn’t warn you}
As Christians, we look at this time as a bittersweet event.  We trust that our dear friend is, right this moment, enjoying life in a way that is truly unimaginable.  She is having experiences at home with her Creator that our earthly minds simply cannot comprehend.  And so, in many ways, this is a very sweet and blessed time.

But, for those of us left behind – husband, children, family, friends – this is also a bitter, agonizing time.  We do sincerely rejoice that our friend is free from the confines of this world – that by the blood of her Savior, she is at last made perfect and whole.  But she is also gone from our world.  We can no longer go to her for advice, cry on her shoulder, or experience life with her.  This is a major loss punctuated all the more by the sudden nature of her passing.

And so, though I cannot do much, I put together these images, full of Scripture, to remind us that this life if not the end.  This life, as real and permanent as it feels, is a tenuous prelude to eternity – to our real life.   This life is but a vapor in comparison to the never-ending life to come.

{warning: it’s about to get real Christiany!}
So I ask the question – are you prepared for death?  Are you living your life so as to prepare for an eternal existence?  I know far too often, I am stuck in the here and now – but thanks be to God that he sent his son, Christ Jesus, to this earth to die in my stead – a death I fully deserve to die.  It is through his blood that we are healed – by his grace that we can come to him and receive everlasting joys forevermore.

If you would like to know more about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus, below are several links to short but helpful resources – and of course, I am always open for discussion.

Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Died

Finally Alive: What Happens When We Are Born Again

For all of you out there suffering through death, loss and hardship, I leave you with this from 1 Peter [ESV]:     Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

And Lastly – these images are free for the taking – they are HD 1080P files, perfect for desktop wallpaper.  Enjoy!

Tiffany & Bryan’s Fun and Fabulous Wedding!

We’ve almost caught up finally!  This is a wedding we shot for Tiffany and Bryan a few weeks back.  As you can see from the photo above, everyone had a great time – especially our newly-weds!  Apart from the couple, notable bits were the very detailed groom’s cake, made to look like Everbank Field, and the really cool custom runner the couple picked out.   Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

Amy & Jedediah’s Vibrant Beach Wedding!

One step closer to catching up…  This is a great wedding Bryn had the opportunity to shoot a few weeks back.  Though we never managed to put two and two together, Bryn discovered when she got to the wedding that Amy was actually one of our daughter’s teachers in an Awana program at a local church.  Small world!

The couple has a wonderful wedding right out on the beach with some stunning skies as the backdrop.  Another great highlight of their wedding was all the creative little elements they used to make the wedding especially their own – like the surf-board guestbook and hand print ring shot!  Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

Evasive Manuevers with Bendix!

We recently had the opportunity to spend time with our friends at Bendix for their 2012 Fleet Council event, hosted at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island.  For a guy that loves big engines, fat tires and innovative technology – this was a pretty sweet shoot!  We spent three days with Bendix and captured a wide variety of shots as you can see below.

Part of this project was the production of a slideshow-style video for the client.  In this case, we didn’t stop at just pictures, but filmed a variety of short video clips of the different systems in operation, as well as this cool tilt-shift time lapse you see here:

Andres & Carla Dun Got Hitched!

We recently had the very special pleasure of shooting the wedding of Andres and Carla.  Why was it so especially special you ask?  Well, Andres has been part of the Deremer Studios family for five years, and we go way back.  So, when we heard he was dating an old friend from his college years, a friend we also knew, we were pretty excited for him.  Surprisingly, despite his romantic yet botched engagement attempt (be sure to check out our blog post on that one! Here’s the link), Carla agreed to marry our dear friend!

Their wedding was really a wonderful event – filled with a joyous and youthful spirit – not to mention Andres and Carla’s closest friends and family.   Held at the Club Continental, on the banks of the St Johns River, the natural beauty of the evening complemented the wonderful wedding perfectly. Also (above) is Andres and Carla’s adorable cake toppers from Disney’s Wall-e.  Below are some of our favorite photos – enjoy!
