Lightning, Fireworks and Disney – Oh My! HD Wallpaper

Deremer Studios had quite the adventure this July 3rd – and I’m sure you can’t wait for details – so here you go!  After a bit of a tip from an Orlando native, we decided it would be a great idea go down to Orlando to shoot Disney’s 4th of July fireworks (technically, it was their 3rd of July fireworks – but that counts, right?).   As the afternoon gave way to evening, the weather took a turn for the worst, trapping us inside for over an hour as we waited for the showers to stop.  As the storms moved north and the the rain gave way, we ventured out onto our super-secret spot (Five Deremer Studios super-kudo points to the first person to guess our location) and settled in for the delayed fireworks.

As you know, Disney never disappoints, so we were blessed to have a truly stunning display of lightning for almost an hour as we waited for the show to begin.  I’ve include my top three shots from the evening for your enjoyment.

As you can see, the show did in fact begin – at about 10:30, and it was well worth the wait.  Despite the rather long walk, spotty showers and delayed start – maybe even because of all those things – it is a memory that I will cherish.   Enjoy – and of course, feel free to download as 1080P desktop wallpaper below!

Amazing pictures! Absolutely admire them – especially after trying to take firework pictures myself! So much appreciation for great photography once you pick up the camera yourself! =)

Thank you for your kind words on my photos. I checked out your photos and I really like them. The one with the Disney castle is really interesting. Is that really a red lightning bolt? I thought it was a cloud with the edge lit by the setting sun.

    • Thanks! The one with the castle was a shot at full zoom with my 100-400 lens. the lightning was so far in the distance behind the castle that the light was being filtered through a lot of atmosphere, making it appear red. At least, that’s my theory!

  6. Beautiful photos! A similar thing happened up here in Massachusetts. We had crazy heat lightning at the exact same time and in the same part of the sky as the fireworks. It was like 2 shows in one. Alas, I didn’t have my camera.

Were you shooting from the sand beach at the Polynesian?
