This past weekend, we once again had the pleasure of being the official photographer of the Great Southern Tailgate Cookoff. We spent Friday evening and Saturday at the event – enjoying the amazing aroma of the manifold wood smoke and the masterfully crafted meats of the competitors. Add to the cookoff some top-shelf bands, a fun-filled kids zone, and the great sponsors and vendors, and you’ve got yourself quite the weekend! New this year was a bacon competition – which ranged from breakfast-style preparations, to bacon desserts such as doughnuts, brownies and chocolate-dipped bacon (below).
All in all, the weekend was an amazing precursor to the great American tradition of tailgating and football! As always, feel free to download any or all of the images for use as desktop wallpaper! Enjoy!
Saturday, we began to feel some effects of Isaac – but not the rain you would expect – rather it was a wonderful breeze off the ocean that made what would have been a pretty hot day downright comfortable. And that’s pretty rare for an August afternoon! Saturday was when most of the judging took place, as well as the awards and some great concerts including the world-famous Little River Band. Here are several of our favorite photos from the day – as always, downloadable as HD desktop wallpaper. Enjoy!
What a weekend – beautiful weather, the smell of hundreds of pounds of smoking BBQ, and a great shoot to boot! This weekend, we had the pleasure of shooting the 3rd Annual Great Southern Tailgate Cookoff for our friends at AmeliaIsland.com. This two day event has been growing steadily every year, drawing contestants and event-goers the like from all over the country.
The event hosts competitions for both amateur and professional BBQ teams, as well as providing great activities like a kids play-zone, awesome BBQ-themed vendors from around the Southeast, and enegetic bands to entertain the crowds! Here are several of our favorite photos from the day – as always, downloadable as HD desktop wallpaper. Enjoy!
