Dreambuilder’s Modern Take on the Classic Beach House

Late last week we had the pleasure of photographing another great residence from Dreambuilder Custom Homes. This gorgeous ocean-front home located in Jacksonville Beach combines many of the classic elements found on traditional coastal cottages with a modern floor plan and color pallet – resulting in a striking modern facade that has hints of both coastal and industrial influences. Not to be outdone by the exterior, when you step into the house you are eyes are carried upward into the three-story-tall foyer (below). As we photographed the home, we discovered all sorts of wonderful details and creative applications that help this interior to shine. Dreambuilder has really outdone itself this time!

The Sun Also Rises – Sunrises over Amelia Island!

So, there’s a chance that I may have fallen a bit behind in posting some of our recent fine art shoots. Thankfully, your wait is over! Today, I wanted to post from a series of images I captured over the course of several mornings in late October. I had a week-long corporate event we were photographing for Eaton at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Each morning, I would leave early to spend some time with the amazing panoramic views of creation that unfolded before me. It was a wonderful blessing to start each morning in such a way – well, except for the getting up early part…

Fourth of July Fireworks HD Wallpaper – Hampton Beach

Last night we had the pleasure of shooting the Fourth of July fireworks display in Hampton Beach, NH. This was our first time back at Hampton since 2008, so a trip was well overdue. As is typical for Hampton Beach, the traffic was horrendous and the parking sparse at best, but after 45 minutes of driving around the area, we were able to find a parking spot and setup along the seawall to photograph this great coastal display. While not as big or complex as some other area shows, the reflection of the fireworks off the water with the long lines of the beach in the background, make for some unique photos.

Christina & Zach’s Spirited Suwannee Wedding!

Just before Christmas, we had the chance to check out a new venue – something we don’t get to do too often after shooting over 400 weddings! The beautiful couple was Christina and Zach, and their wedding was held at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park out near the intersection of I-10 and I-75. The location is really quite pretty – with the river winding along its Northern boundary and a wonderful Christmas Lights display during the holidays. Zach and Christina’s wedding was held along the banks of the Suwannee, with all sorts of creative elements that made the wonderful evening their own.

Jenny & Travis’ Classy & Creative Destin Wedding!

This past weekend was another one of those “away” weddings out in Destin, FL – our fourth this year! Must be a popular place to get married. Jenny and Travis had lots of really wonderful and creative ideas that really made the wedding their own. From renting a home that housed 33 people (that’s about 2/3rds of the guests) so they could have everyone close, to all these great framed chalk boards that they had around the oceanfront wedding site and back at the house – where they also held the reception. Future brides – there are a lot of great ideas you may want to put your own personal touch on for your wedding day.

Courtney & Frank’s Classic Beach Club Wedding!

We had a great time shooting Courtney and Frank’s wedding this weekend – all the more so as our story with this family began many moons ago! Fresh out of college, I was hired by TNT Logistics (Now CEVA Logistics) to be their marketing and graphics guy for their North America operations. That’s where I first met Courtney’s dad, Jeff. Since leaving CEVA to run Deremer Studios full time back in 2007, we’ve stayed in touch and this summer, they asked us to photograph Courtney’s upcoming wedding. The wedding itself was gorgeous – lots of wonderful details created by the wedding coordinator and the folks at Sawgrass Beach Club. For me, the event was also a reunion of sorts – as I had the opportunity to connect with many folks from those old TNT days, including the event coordinator at the Sawgrass Beach Club – small world! Kelly & Taylor’s Amazing Amelia Island Wedding!

A little over a week ago, we had the pleasure of capturing Kelly and Taylor’s very special day up in Amelia Island. This was the first time we shot a wedding with Amelia Island Beach Weddings, and I have to say they did a wonderful job! They even managed to keep all the foreboding rain away for the wedding – still not sure how they managed that…

But seriously, I had a wonderful time shooting this wedding and loved all the great ideas the couple came up with to make the day uniquely theirs – like the very cool, from-scratch thank you signs they made (above). The night concluded with a great dinner and lots of celebration at the rustic downtown Fernandina staple, the Crab Trap. Check out all our favorite photos from the wedding below!

Fine Art Series – Travels North Part 5: From Dusk ’til Dawn…

Today’s feature is another in our series from our travels through New England. This shoot was split through two days – dusk one day, and the following dawn. Did I mention the sun rose at 5:30 and my shoot was an hour from where we were staying. Yeah – that meant a 4:00 AM wake up. It was a bit early for my tastes, but well worth it! The sunrise was amazing over Nubble Light, in York, ME.

The previous evening, we spent our time at Fort McClary – an early 19th century fort constructed to defend the entrance of the Piscatiqua River and the strategically valuable ship-works of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard just a mile up the river. Fine Art Series – Travels North Part 4: The Rain in Maine Falls…

Okay, so thankfully, it actually wasn’t raining in Maine, but I couldn’t resist the title. This post will focus on a morning trip I took along the Piscatiqua River, along the Maine shore. The weather was beautiful, a cool breeze making the low 70 degree weather seem nearly heavenly. You’ll see a few of the coastal lighthouses as well as a bridge or two and a few of the historic buildings of the seacoast. As you can tell by the volume of wedding post, the season is in full swing! Today, we’re adding this sneak peek of Christine & Chris’ awesome ocean-side wedding. Bryn had the pleasure of spending a fun filled afternoon with this couple, beginning with a laid-back lunch at the eclectic Ragtime Tavern. The whole wedding party then headed to One Ocean for final preparations, and set out to the beach for a beautiful sunset wedding. The usual reception festivities followed at a private residence. Ada & Oswaldo Say “I Do” Once Again!

Well, this spring has proven to be one of those non-stop sort of seasons where you can never seem to catch up! Thankfully, I finally have a bit of time to share with you some of our recent shoots, including the time we spent with this wonderful couple. Oswaldo and Ada recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary and thought, what better way to mark this milestone than to renew their vows!
